    The next CU Wednesday meeting will be on Wednesday 19th November from 1.30pm.

    This month our guest speaker is Beneath The Ground. They are a local group who use poetry and fiddle tunes to tell stories of Newcastle’s Ouseburn Valley.

    The meeting will take place in the activity room in our office at Northumberland House. As always we will provide some light refreshments. Please let us know if you are able to attend by calling us on 0191 232 7292.

    Subsidised taxis are available for the cost of £8.00 per journey for paid-up members. We hope to see you there.

      Our CU Wednesday group returns in January. The meeting will be held on Wednesday 15th January from 1.30pm.

      This month we will be having a coffee afternoon at the Magic Hat Café. The Magic Hat Café is located on Higham Place which is just down the street from Newcastle Vision Support. We will be meeting at 1.30pm in the reception of Hadrian House and walking down to the café.

      As always, subsidised taxis will be available for paid-up members at a cost of £6 per journey.

      About the event

      Our Walking Group meets fortnightly on a Thursday morning. The group meet at a designated meeting point for around 10.15am with the aim to set off from 10.30am. Walk locations vary each week so please check the website or call the office to find out the details of each walk.

      The next outing for the walking group will be Thursday 23rd January. We will be going to Leazes Park. We will be meeting at the Richardson Road entrance to the park. We will then have a walk around the park and end with a cuppa in a nearby café.

      Please note that the walks are weather dependant. If we do need to cancel at the last minute we will contact you. Please wear suitable footwear and clothing if you would like to attend.

      Our Walking Group meets fortnightly on a Thursday morning. The next walk will be on Thursday 29th May at 10.30am.

      The group will be meeting at The Quayside Wetherspoons (NE1 3RN), heading along the Quayside and ending at The Cycle Hub ( NE6 1BU) for some well earned refreshments. The walk is gentle, flat, includes plenty of stops (if required) and is suitable for all abilities.

      They will be meeting at the Keelman Pub which is next to the car park before going on a walk around the country park. The walk will end at the Keelman Pub with a well earned refreshment. The group will set off from the Keelman Pub at around 10.30am and should have completed the walk no later than 12.30pm.

      This walk is flat, includes plenty of stops and is suitable for all abilities.

      The group will set off from KFC, Byker at 11am and aim to be at St. Peter's Marina for around 12pm. The walk will end with a well earned refreshment in The Merchant's Tavern pub which is located at St. Peter's Marina.
