Our Knit and Natter group runs every Thursday from 1.30pm until 3.15pm. This is a support group where individuals get together for a chat over a cup of tea. They occasionally bring their handicrafts and knitting along to do whilst they are there.

Our Walking Group meets fortnightly on a Thursday morning. The group meet at a designated meeting point for around 10.15am with the aim to set off from 10.30am. Walk locations vary each week so please check the website or call the office to find out the details of each walk.
The next outing for the walking group will be Thursday 23rd January. We will be going to Leazes Park. We will be meeting at the Richardson Road entrance to the park. We will then have a walk around the park and end with a cuppa in a nearby café.
Please note that the walks are weather dependant. If we do need to cancel at the last minute we will contact you. Please wear suitable footwear and clothing if you would like to attend.

The art group meet every other week on a Friday afternoon from 1.30pm – 3.15pm. They engage in a lot of different activities such as clay, papier mache, collage, needlecraft and much more! . This group is ran by a professional tutor.

Our chair exercise group meet every Tuesday from 12.30pm until 1.30pm. It is designed especially for people with sight loss and aims to keep you fit and improve your mobility but most importantly have a good time.
The group is led by a fully qualified instructor.

Our Chair Based Yoga class focuses on relaxation and stress management. This group is suitable for all abilities. It is chair-based yoga (no need for leotards and no rolling around on the floor!). This group runs during term time only and there is a £35.00 fee for each term (10 weeks). This payment covers the cost of employing qualified instructor – no money comes to Newcastle Vision Support.

The creative writing group meet fortnightly on a Friday afternoon from 1.30pm – 3.00pm. The group often pick a topic and write a short story relating to that topic – this is sometimes done individually or collectively as a group. The group is led by a one of our volunteers.

Our next CU Wednesday meeting will take place at 1.30pm on Wednesday 19th February in our activity room.
Our speaker for this month will be Barclays Bank who will be giving their top tips on spotting the signs of potential scams.
